For the past 8 years from February until the
2nd week of May, lively and colorful street
banners have adorned our Downtown.
These original art pieces are 30 inches wide
by 84 inches high. Many depict scenes
of Oceanside, including the Pier
Amphitheatre, San Luis Rey Mission, St.
Mary's Church and other local
landmarks. You will also find nautical
and oceanic scenes depicting the wonderful
climate and beauty of Oceanside's many
lifestyles.
You can see the banners on the downtown
streets until May 10th - Mission Avenue and
Coast Highway.
The Arts Alive banners will be available for
auction on May 16th at the Elk's Lodge, 444
Country Club Lane, from 5-8pm. Enjoy
no-host bar, all you can eat buffet, music,
raffle prizes and meet the local artists who
made the banners. The proceeds will be
split between the artists and the Arts Alive
Program which will fund the integration of an
art program for our youth at the Sunset
Market.
This is your
chance to own an original piece of
art. Bidding starts at $100.00
(plus tax).
Banners are a great way to decorate any
indoor or outdoor area. Stop by
Pier View
Coffee Company and see the two banners
that decorate the inside of their shop.
Add color to your patio with a banner.
Use the banner to block the direct sun into a
window (they're a perfect length to hang
underneath the eaves).
View the banners and find out about the
artists on our website. Bids can be
placed in advance at our office and finalized
at the auction dinner. For more
information: www.msoceanside.com or
call (760) 754-4512.
